Busy Little Bee

The past month has been so busy my head is in a constant spinning motion that amazingly enough I think my eyes have adjusted to. Here is a recap of all my exciting (or not so much) misadventures as of late:

Work:

Well I'm juggling two jobs, which is actually pretty awesome considering I really like working, and I love what I do (at least during the day...). The only bad part comes when sleep is something I only daydream about, and working out becomes non existent. My schedule is starting to even out a little bit so I am hopefully going to get back into running and generally being a sane, well rested person.

Food:

I've had some really awesome culinary experiences recently. My brunch game has been on fire, and my dream of becoming a regular at Holeman and Finch is becoming realized (especially with my 10% off SIP card that constantly stares at me from its little bed in my wallet telling me to go and live my life through the food and cocktails at H&F)....wow...but seriously, The Burger and I have become best friends. Last weekend's brunch with Maggie parked at the bar with my favorite bartender Tyson proved to be a tour of liquor that led me back to an old favorite drink. We started off our meal with greyhounds, moved on to glasses of Champagne, Pims Cups and some other unidentified cocktails Tyson brought out of his imagination, but as usual, I ended up right back at the greyhound. This Sunday we took a trip back to France (which I still really need to blog about...) and had lunch at Charlie's "favorite restaurant in Atlanta", Anis. Charlie may have a point, between the fabulous wine from Beaune (the place wine grapes can only hope to be grown) and perfectly proportioned meal sizes, we all left there very content, and a little tipsy. But, the crowned jewel of the past couple weeks was my trip to the newest Richard Blais and Concentrics empire, The Spence. Now I have to say I prejudged this place thinking Richard (we're first name basis close...in my dreams) may have played out his own style, people were giving  mixed reviews and I didn't know who to believe! So, when it came time to help Kati chose a spot for her birthday dinner, my natural instinct was to go try it and make up my own mind, and I am so glad I did. With an eclectic menu that boasted Brussels Sprouts, bone marrow, corn brulee and a number of other menu items that change daily and a wine menu that really holds its own, I can safely say that The Spence is one of my favorite new restaurants in Atlanta. Not to mention, the interior is stunning. I can't wait for warmer weather again ( I know, already) to go enjoy their patio!

Fashion:

I am currently accepting donations for these

Pop Culture/Entertainment:

  • Charlize Theron dating Eric Stonestreet...well I was told this was true a long time ago but as I look back at the gossip blogs, apparently it is not...and now I am sad.
  • I do not think Robsten is getting back together- or maybe I just don't want to believe it.
  • I really need the Great Gatsby to impress me as I have lost my faith in good movies recently- and I miss Leonardo DiCaprio's face.
  • Am I the only one that thinks Miley Cyrus is not TOO skinny? She look pretty dayum good....I mean her body, I am not talking about her hair....I REPEAT, I am not talking about her hair.
  • Breaking Amish freaks me out

Life, upcoming stuff:

Halloween is on the horizon, and all i want to do is get an easy costume and pass out candy and watch scary movies. It is also me and George's one year anniversary...so hopefully I will be wearing my new leather shorts while doing all of these things (fingers and toes crossed). Plus, I think that's all my brain will be able to handle after Georgia/Florida weekend the weekend before H-Ween (see what i did there?)
