Food:
I am finally starting to scratch some Atlanta restaurants off my bucket list, my most recent one is 4th and Swift. My roommates swear by it as their go to for good fish, cocktails and small plates. The restaurant is totally unassuming from the outside, but the moment you step inside you feel like you are in a more metropolitan and stylish spot than a small spot off North Avenue. The restaurant is surprisingly big, made bigger with splashes of white linens and walls. The bar is a piece of dark wooded beauty complete with bartenders who really know their stuff. George and I arrived a little early for our reservations so we could have a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar, which was totally worth it. After getting a little lubricated before dinner we were shown to our cozy corner booth, where we got comfy and joked with adorable waitress. After browsing the menu for what seemed like 10 seconds, we knew exactly what we wanted, we ordered 5 small plates to come out at varying times during the meal. On the list was grilled Spanish octopus, duck and ricotta meatballs, a side of crispy brussel sprouts, fried oysters and rabbit confit. Everything looked and tasted amazing, mostly the rabbit confit and the duck and ricotta meatballs...I mean wow...party in my mouth (or something equally as cliche). We finished off the meal with complimentary split glass of champagne (did I mention it was our anniversary?) and then we were on our merry little way. When discussing our experience at 4th and Swift in the car on the way home we couldn't stop talking about how it was the perfect amount of food. Usually we over order, go home and pass out, but tonight we were completely content with the food we ate. Final rating- B+ (Pros: Good small plates, atmosphere, cocktails and wine; Cons: my sister and her friend who ate there earlier in the evening didn't like their entrees and we were sitting just a little too close to the awkward match.com date next to our table)
On other culinary notes, I tried to cook a lamb loin...not very successfully. BUT I did make a fabulous citrus roasted chicken with red potatoes and green beans, yummm.
Fashion:
Dark colors (purples, greens, grays) are really stepping up to the plate this season in the forms of skirts, denim and great transitional work to dinner dresses. There is still nothing better than a great pair of black pants, my current obsession is a great cropped trouser, although a wide legged pant will always be a flattering fit for us tall gals.

My challenge to myself is to always try to fit in a pop of color somewhere in my outfit this fall/winter.
Weather it be a great scarf, purse or some awesome jewelry, that pop of color is what really makes an outfit.

Pop Culture/ General life:
Nothing crazy has happened recently in the life of crazy celebrity, Amanda Bynes wasn't really naked in that tanning salon lobby, LiLo will probably get a slap on the wrist for lying to the police and apparently Jermaine Jackson is trying to change his name to Jermaine Jacksun...interesting.
One final note, FOLLOW ME! It'll be fun I promise and I think my evolving blogging style is finally finding some footing.
