Always tell the bad news first

Here comes the bad news:

So THIS happened...this may be the beginning of the end of the world everyone. Just imagine if they were to make music together. On second thought, don't think about that, I don't want to be blamed for any subsequent hearing loss.

The good news:

The Optimist lived up to the hype. It was truly amazing. The wine list was better than JCT (which has a pretty limited but still impressive wine list) and I cant even explain how much I (and everyone else in my party) loved the food. I wish I had taken pictures of the food but I was too busy devouring it. The seven of us started off with three dozen oysters, with fresh shaved horseradish, and they were delicious. Everyone had a different main course which was awesome (I am a firm believe that no one should get the same dish at a table, save for extenuating circumstances like the hanger steak and Top Flr), and each one was better than the last. I loved my tuna, I'm a sucker for tuna but I'm telling you this was really up there. The tuna with a side of heirloom tomatoes was the perfect amount of food, next time I go (which will hopefully be soon, hint hint George) I am 100% getting the octopus appetizer, I had a bite of Jenni's last night and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Talk about food porn. Not only was the food amazing but the restaurant itself was beautiful. The bathrooms made you feel like you were at a beach club, while the lighting and the exposed brick were on point. I really can't say enough about this place, if I were richer I would become a regular at The Optimist in a heartbeat. Also, I really like any place I can hang out on a putting green while waiting for a table.

OH...and Tom and Katie are officially divorced. Katie, I'm still waiting for that tell all book.
