My mid 20's has become a time for self exploration, trying new things and general improvement, not just in the kitchen. In the posts that follow I am going to discuss cooking, fashion, music, pop culture, and the general craziness of my life, because I am that self- centered to think that people are actually going to read and care what is going on in the mind of yours truly...

Thank you, Pinterest
Until about 7 months ago it was fair to say that I was a wreck in the kitchen. Save for my famous BLT's and Shells and Cheese, everything I cooked turned out to be a disaster. Proof positive that brownies that my friend Bet and I made that somehow tasted like popcorn. However, since my friend and roommate, Kati, hounded me to get on Pinterest several months ago this has all changed. Browsing the food and drink category and daydreaming about cooking these delicious concoctions quickly became my very favorite pastime. One day i actually got up the courage to take one of these recipes, make it, and feed it to an actual human being. The taste tester was my fearless boyfriend George. We made a balsamic glazed pork tenderloin (http://kitchenconfidante.com/if-you-cant-stand-the-heat-part-ii) and of course my two favorite things in the world, arugula and brussel sprouts. I'm not going to say it was an easy task to take on for my first real cooking challenge, but we actually made it, and although there was room for improvement, it was pretty good! Since then my love affair with cooking (and my boyfriend's love affair with being the taste tester) has really heated up, I have even taken to making my own recipes.
