Goodbye Forever, Pizza, I Think I'll Miss You Most of All

I've got a busy April and May coming up so I am using March as a month to get healthy, starting with boot camp. I did my first boot camp last fall and it went over pretty well, I was fit and eventually was able to do several steep hill sprints without passing out. But that boot camp was a tiny kitten compared to what I'm into now. I got the "Get in Shape Boot Camp" Groupon about 2 months ago and this week was finally the time to redeem it. After 3 days I can honestly tell you that I've never been this sore in my life. It isn't particularly challenging yet, but my thighs feel like I've never worked them out ever. To put this image in your mind, walking around the office today I have been stopped 4 times and asked what is wrong. I have to tell them that no, I haven't been on a week long horseback riding excursion, I have simply gone to boot camp.

In addition to working out they gave us a grocery list and a "fridge makeover outline". It is a little intimidating but I am taking a go at it. I have stocked my kitchen with yogurt, chicken breasts, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, whole wheat pasta, quinioa, almonds, green tea, leafy greens and red wine...because its good for your heart...whatever, I'm allowed to have a vice.

This new diet is a problem for me however because i have to cut down (and probably give up) on some of my most favorite foods. Pizza... that's probably gone, although i may do a once a month cheat day for it. Orzo, although I can have whole wheat orzo...but good luck finding it. Beer, im more of a wine girl myself but a cold beer at a spring festival or baseball game really hits the spot. And finally, mac and cheese. Although, for this last one I am determined to find a healthy alternative to mac and cheese...possibly with a whole wheat orzo? Oh the imagination is a wonderful thing.
